Germination

• Place your seed (or seeds) between two layers of damp paper towels.
• Place your towels and seed in an airtight container (plastic bags or food storage containers work)
• Put the container in a dark, temperature-stable environment (between 65 – 72 F is ideal).
• Let this sit for 2 – 5 days. When you see tiny roots sprout, it’s time to plant.

Seedling Stage

If you’re growing outdoors and you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, plant your auto seeds after the last hard frost. Depending on where you live, this could be as early as March or as late as May.

If you’re growing inside, you can plant auto flowering seeds year-round. Plant your seed into a nutrient-rich soil mix in the container you’ll grow in. The shorter life span of autoflowers means the less they have to move, the better. Use an 18/6 or or 20/4 light cycle rotation to start. 

Vegetative Stage

The vegetative stage sets the stage for your harvest and yield size with autoflower seeds.

During this stage, you can continue the 18/6 light cycle, but the more light autoflowers have, the better. Consider moving up to 20/4 or 24 hours of continuous light to encourage the most robust growth. The type of light you’re using matters: blue light spectrum is best for the vegetative phase to encourage growth.

Water, nutrients, humidity, temperature, and airflow are key in this stage. It’s the best time to start low-stress training, topping, or ScrOGing.

Flowering Stage

Autoflower seeds will automatically enter the flowering stage after 8 – 10 weeks of growth. You don’t have to change the light cycle, but you should switch to a red light spectrum to encourage robust flowering. Look for developed trichomes and browning pistols to know when it’s time to harvest.
