Best Way To Produce Marijuana-Infused Butter Called Cannabutter

Best Way To Produce Marijuana-Infused Butter Called Cannabutter | The Seed Fair

Marijuana-infused butter also known as Cannabutter is one easy way to make edibles infused with cannabis. However, it can be tricky, especially if you are a first-timer at it. To achieve a perfect psychoactive result, you will need to heat your flower slowly at a soft temperature.  In this recipe, we will guide you through the decarboxylation process first, before giving you a comprehensive step guide on how you can infuse your butter.

Note: edibles made from home are quite strenuous to dose accurately. In this guide, you will find some helpful tips for accurate dosing. A point to note here for your DIY cook is the fact that there exists no accurate way to measure the power and homogeneity of your batch.

How to produce cannabutter

Cannabutter is a flavorful and adaptable go-between cannabinoids and THC, even though it is not the only option on the list of such carriers. You can as well use coconut, olive, and other fat-infused oils for your smooth infusion operations. A point to keep in mind here is the fact that butter burns with ease, so you should stay within a reasonable distance when your marijuana-infused butter is on fire.

Ingredients

  • 1 glass of butter
  • 1 glass measuring about  6-10 grams of your floor cannabis, decarboxylase.

The most important step: Decarboxylation of the cannabis

Before you set out to make your Cannabutter, you will have to decarboxylase the marijuana flower. If you skip this step you will have a less potent butter to deal with. This is why this step is important: when marijuana is smoked or vaporized, the heat recycles THCA to THC, which is the substance responsible for the psychoactive effects in weeds. When you prepare your edibles, this process should come in handy to give you the best results.

While some recipes will require that you soak your marijuana in your hot butter as it boils, the shorter the time allocated for this, the better your butter will taste. Inside of this, it is best recommended that you decarbonize your marijuana with the oven mainly.

Best recipe for marijuana-infused cannabutter

1. Decarb your cannabis

Begin by preheating it in your oven using a temperature that is up to 240°-300°F, then place your marijuana on an oven tray. Use parchment paper here to avoid sticking, and then put the tray in your oven, set your timer between 20-40 minutes and 11-18 if your temperature is above 250°F, this will differ for dried marijuana as they will need less time. Ensure you check the oven every 8-10minutes, then mix your buds so they are exposed equally, this you can do by shaking the tray.

2. Grind

Ensure you grind your decarboxylase marijuana perfectly using your hand grinder.

3. Soften the butter

Put in  1 glass of water with a  glass of butter, mixing them into a pot or pan, preferably a saucepan. Boil it at a low temperature and allow your butter to melt. The water here helps to adjust the temperature of your butter and keep it away from burning.

4. Add your cannabis

Once you notice the butter has begun melting, put in your ground marijuana.

5. Allow it to simmer

Continue with the low temperature, which will be between 160°F to 200°F, allow the mixture to boil for a period of not more than 3hours, while you stir it occasionally. Make sure the boiling doesn’t get to its peak.

6. Strain it

To strain the marijuana-infused butter, you will need a funnel to be set on your jar and place it using a cheesecloth. When the butter is fully cooled, pour it over the funnel and strain it. Avoid squeezing your cheesecloth after this as you may end up with bad materials that will affect the butter taste.

7. Put the jar filled with butter in the fridge

When you experience surplus water forming at the bottom of your jar, use a knife to remove the water, allowing the butter to stay in the refrigerator for an hour or more.

8. Mix carefully

Before adding your butter to your snacks, desserts, and dishes, read through our dosing advice to have the best results.

Directions on dosing your marijuana-infused cannabutter

The efficacy of your butter will depend on factors such as the time it took to cook and how hot it was. The type of marijuana used, whether it is an Indica or Sativa variant will tell on it.  To test the efficiency of your butter, dispose of about ¼ to ½ spoon on your snacks and monitor the effect for an hour. You can then decrease or improve your dose as you desire, with this knowledge, you can use the dosage for your mixtures.
